October 20, 5:00 PM–8:00 PM Join Resource Furniture and Dwell at the Architecture and Design Film Festival for a private screening of Lioness Among Lions. 5:00 – 6:30pm Cocktails and Hors D’ouevres 6:30pm – Screening of Lioness Among Lions – The Architect Zaha Hadid LIONESS AMONG LIONS - THE ARCHITECT ZAHA HADID Germany 2009 Produced, Written and Directed by Horst Brandenburg Winner of the prestigious Pritzker prize in 2004 and the Praemium Imperiale in 2009, the English-Iraqi architect and designer Zaha Hadid (born in 1950) has long been controversial. This film spotlights a leading figure in deconstructivism and her visionary achievements around the world: the MAXXI contemporary art museum in Rome, the CMA-CGM tower in Marseille, the Guangzhou Opera and a performing arts centre in Abu Dhabi. It provides an overview of her main projects from London to Hong Kong and in the United Arab Emirates and features commentaries by Tom Krens of the Guggenheim Foundation, architect Patrick Schumacher, photographer Hélène Binet, publisher Francesco Dal Co and stylist Karl Lagerfeld. The German-born producer, director and video artist Horst Brandenburg has produced more than 50 documentaries on architecture, design and art for television.
