August 04–September 04 Los Angeles, California The Architecture + Design Museum, Los Angeles is pleased to present Rethink/LA: Perspectives on a Future City, August 4 – September 4; exhibition opening August 4th from 6-9PM and a "Moving Beyond Cars" Party with GOOD Magazine August 11th from 7-10PM. The exhibition is a collaboration of forward-thinking volunteers in the Los Angeles architecture, planning, motion graphics and design community. It is an interactive exhibit that uses photographs and the technique of photomontage, alongside visual and audio narrations and interactive installations to examine Los Angeles in the past, in the present and projected 50 years to a post-oil future. Understanding that real change starts with a clear vision, the group hopes to inspire Americans to look beyond the paradigm of cities planned and reliant on the abundance of space, time and consumable resources, to a world transitioning to a new and, by necessity, sustainable future.
