IKEA Founder Steps Down as Chairman — Design News 06.05.13

The founder of IKEA, Ingvar Kamprad, stepped down as chairman of the company's board today. Mathias Kamprad replaces his 87 year-old father as the head of the flat pack furniture company. The elder Kamprad started IKEA in 1943, and retired as Chief Executive Officer in 1986.  In other news, check out an artist who sculpts rooms with light, and Mozilla hopes to launch phones under $50 in developing countries.
