Our posts on how to build a garden office are always extremely popular so for those of you tempted to undertake the project on your own, here's another great example. Graphic designer Neil Simpson is building a 3m x 4.5m shed, of which the front two thirds will be an office and the back third for storage of bikes, BBQs and other fun stuff. It will have a mono pitch roof that extends at the front to form a veranda area with sliding patio door which will, as Neil puts it, "give it a less boxy look". There will be a 'normal' door at the back. But as he says, everything is still subject to change. This is well worth a look and repeat looks over the next few days as he's taking photos and writing about what he's doing step by step. "I'm looking for housing that is affordable, and modern. I know there must be innovative, well-designed housing out there. I just can't seem to find it!" —Tracey R., from the Dwell discussion board
