Not sure if this is auction time of year, but today I ran across two that I would love to attend.  Of course, there is no way I could buy anything there but for me it would be more like a museum visit.

From Chicago (of course), the Wright Auction house is having their bi-annual Modern Design sale.  Included in it are works by George Nelson & Associates, Charles and Ray Eames, Greta Magnusson-Grossman and Isamu Noguchi. Originals.  That’s right.  Estimated sale price for most pieces is upwards of $1000, even for the clocks and coat racks.

And today at Sotheby’s, a sale of 20th Century Design including a Private Collection of Mid-Century Design and Ceramic Art.  The prices for these pieces are even more dear. I didn’t see anything here under $3000.  I am having a horrid time getting these photos for the blog, so you need to go and check it out yourself.  It’s totally worth it.  Enjoy the browsing!
