From Forbes, a look at the Frank Sinatra glass house currently up for sale in Chatsworth, CA. Talk about a swingin’ house for swingin’ parties. Makes me want a pool even more. (My husband likes to correct me by saying ‘You don’t really just want a pool.  You really want to live in Calfornia.’) Well, of course I do. That’s where houses like this are born.

Frank Sinatra

Often referred to as the “great glass mansion,” the home is perched atop its own 14 acre hill and vineyard which overlooks a 3,000 acre nature preserve.

Frank Sinatra

The mid-century home was completed in 1951 by architects Pereira & Luckman. Sinatra leased the impressive property for much of the 1950’s.

Celebrity guests included Lucille Ball and Ava Gardener.

Judy Garland and Vincent Minnelli held their wedding at the home.

The home features 3 lower level private offices with a conference room and has 4 bedrooms with 5.5 baths. There is also a detached gym steps away to the 50-ft. swimming pool.

Mad Men, Dreamgirls, Swordfish and Bewitched have all filmed at the Sinatra compound.

The 10,000 square foot main estate is set at the top of a long, private road.

The 1 bedroom/1.5 bath guest house offers 1,000 square ft and its own pool. (Note: the hanging lamp comes from Ikea and is $149.)

The compound is completely secure and offers the convenience of proximity to LA (35 minutes) and Malibu (30 minutes).

The estate features panoramic views and parking for 200 vehicles, making it the ideal abode for hosting large parties and events.

Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe famously stayed in the guest house and did her very last photo shoot at the property before her death. The home was also the site of Marilyn Monroe’s (alleged) rendezvous with John F. Kennedy.

Some house, eh? Anyone have a spare $12 million they want to loan me?
