Accessible is Modern

There are many examples in the building industry where Accessible solutions can teach us about the best solution to a problem for everyone. Here I am talking about a problem that all of us are dealing with every day - round shower drain in the middle of our shower pan. What a night mare, it is always in your way it limits the design of your shower and the whole bath by not allowing the use of bigger tiles on the shower floor and it might have started the saying " fit a square peg through a round hole". That is exactly that, four square sides sloped into a round hole in the middle!!!!

There is a solution out there, some call it trench drains, trough drains, slot drains, quick drain, strip drains or linear drains. It does not matter what you call it. It is the solution, now we are sloping one plane into one line. It is neat, practical and logical.

It all started with a vision of people using new materials for shower pan waterproofing and new drainage systems to make all the showers accessible for wheel chairs!
