I have followed James Webb on Flickr for quite some time now. His place is the perfect minimal HiFi enhanced dwelling. I finally got around to asking him if I could share his place with the plastolux readers. I really appreciate the fact that just about every piece in his apartment was thought out and chosen with consideration to what already exisisted in his collection. I really like some of the tricks he used to make this space feel larger than it is. James is one half of gabriëls webb a multi-disciplinary design and architecture office. The objectives in this compact living space for a young international professional was to increase the feeling of space through the “white washing” of all surfaces, including painting the aging existing floorboards with a high gloss paint.

The sourcing and selection of mid-century furniture from dutch designers was crucial in creating a suitable atmosphere for the client whose interest lies in art, music and design from that period. Pieces such as Wim Rietveld’s Pyramid Table and an original Martin Visser SZ02 chair contrast in the white space.
