Modern commode console from another dimensionSomething new yet in a way classic. This commode has a French serpentine shape but that is where the similarities to the past end. Maybe it’s an antique from another world or a different dimension. It’s made mainly from white pine. The top is a slab of mahogany hacked into thousands of angles by a machete then ebonized to look like charcoal. The bottom has been shaped by fire. It has a shellac and wax finish. The storage on the inside is illuminated by an industrial red light that peeks through the pine slats like a burning ember. This piece has a heart and a soul. Made by Christopher Simpson. More.
