While you might be focused on your dining room and menu ideas for the upcoming holidays, I'm here to remind you of one other detail you don't want to leave out. The guestroom is a major factor in your entertaining style for the holidays. Function and style, much like the rest of your home, should be your focus. But you don't have to spend too much time or money. For example, try plug in wall sconces  bedside instead of complicated lighting fixtures. Since the guestroom is often time smaller, this will also provide more space for the nightstand.  Images from SF Girl by Bay and The Glossier Nerd Plug in wall sconces help save space on smaller night stands. Here's three important steps to help you get started styling your guestroom: 1. Lighting Keep it simple, but make sure it's functional. The plug in light fixtures is a great start, but you might need to provide additional lighting. You can also provide easy overhead lighting with plug in chandeliers . No need to mess with electrical, just add a hook, allow for some pretty swag with the cord and plug it in! 2. Linens Make sure your guests are comfortable with soft linens, but also warm enough. Provide extra blankets and throws since everyone is different when it comes to body temperature. 3. Storage Depending how long your guests are staying, they will need somewhere to put their things so provide a dresser or shelving in your guestroom. Even if they're only there for a couple days, no one wants to live out of a suitcase.
