I have posted about Tres Birds modern retail interiors before and recently revisited their site to see if there was anything new. the QUIVAS project is new to me and is very resourceful. The use of solar thermal heating, photovoltaic on-site energy production, R-9 fiberglass windows, highly insulated mass walls, mixed with some nicely recycled building materials and you have yourself a cool and smart dwelling. They also have a very nice pine bench, tbw-LS (low stool) made from dead pine. More after the jump

The structure is a reclaimed steel main frame with bricks reclaimed from Denver’s finest demolished buildings. Finish materials include high school bleacher wood, beetle kill pine, and a remarkable rosewood column.
