Stumbled (quite literally) into our idea of heaven: a personal, local store in Amsterdam wall-to-wall full of industrial, vintage lighting fixtures and light-up letters. We were almost brought to tears. Called 360 Volt, it’s located down a few stairs in the basement of one of Amsterdam’s adorable canal houses on a quieter part of the road called Prinsengracht.

We were dummies and didn’t talk to the owner because it looked like she was in the middle of restoring a light and we didn’t want to bother her, so we don’t know anything about her background or the store’s background, but we do know you can buy from the store, buy online and even rent lights for photo shoots, films and more.

The website, though not quite as magical as stepping into a showroom where you’re surrounded by lights, is thoughtfully laid out, with lights divided into sections based on color and sometimes shape. You can also browse through project photos and get inspiration on how these lights can look bad@$# in modern commercial and residential spaces. They also sell lighting parts, like an awesome array of colorful wiring options and more. Visit them to see what we mean on the 360 Volt website (available in English or Dutch).
