I happen to stumble across a set of images taken in 2006 on Flick by Peter Edson. The house instantly grabbed my attention. I don’t claim to be some well of knowledge on this type of history so it was great to do a little digging and find out more about the architect, Edward Durell Stone. The house is referred to as International Style. I love so many elements about this home. The house has also dodged the demolition bullet.

The A. Conger Goodyear House has been lauded as one of the nation’s finest examples of International Style and many consider it to be Stone’s greatest accomplishment in domestic architecture. The building represents early modernist architecture in the United States and reflects Stone’s influences from his collaboration with other architects of the time, including Frank Lloyd Wright, as well as his exposure to the early architectural work in Europe by Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier, and other Bauhaus trained masters.
