Carlos Cruz Diez makes “reflective” work which is based on Kinetic Movement of 60′s. He plans, programs and codes every details of his structures and installations but only brings the emotions into the process when it comes to choosing and combining colors. He wants to show that the color has an autonomous existence without the form. it is even capable of invading spaces.

Cruz Diez has focused throughout his career on color, line and perception. He demonstrates that color changes depending the position of the viewer and this creates a sense of movement.  By breaking down the color to its simple quality, he engages the viewers into the visual experience of the chroma.

His recent exhibition in Houston ” The embodied experience of color” explored participatory environments in color involving the body, senses and subjectivity.
