4-Current-Table-1London based designer Marjan van Aubel has designed a table which harnesses solar power that can then be used to charge portable devices. A collaborative project with Swiss solar panel company Solaronix, van Aubel’s clean and modern Current Table ingeniously substitutes a standard table top for a grid of bespoke solar panels decorated with a pattern made to complement the table’s design. The panels, which remain effective even in diffused light conditions, work by converting daylight into electricity, which is then transferred to batteries cleverly hidden within the table’s frame. USB ports on either side of the table present handsome charging stations with renewable energy as their only source. Clean and green.
