We’ve got a crazy obsession with Icelandic landscape photography. Every time we look at photos from that country, no matter the artist taking the shots, we’re transfixed. There’s something so alien about it, but also strangely familiar, too. We’re pretty sure if we lived in Iceland we’d spend all day frolicking in its gorgeousness. Of course, we’d have to find a place to sleep at night. Which is why, sometimes, we do a little Iceland airbnbing during our lunch break. AND LOOK WHAT WE FOUND.

We unfortunately don’t have any information about the architect or designer of this little series of guest cottages in  Kjarvalstrod, Hellnar, Snæfellsnes 356, Iceland, but we know we love its sleek, simplistic modern lines and natural materials. Also: those views!

“Enjoy the idyllic surroundings of the Snæfellsjökull National Park in a brand new luxury cottage, located only two hour drive away from Reykjavik. The spectacular nature at Snæfellsnes peninsula has often been referred to as the center of the earth and became world famous after Jules Verne described it in his book ‘A Journey to the Center of the Earth.’”

“The south facing cottage offers a viewing platform of Snæfell Glacier known for its beauty and mystical power in the background and the Atlantic Ocean in the foreground. There are 3 separate bedrooms on the upper floor along with a sleeping sofa, located in the informal TV/DVD corner. The cottage also offers fully equipped kitchen (with dish washer) and dining facilities.” Should you find yourself in Iceland: here.
