We’re quite taken with these flowery stools by San Diego-based designer and artist Louise Girling. Working out of her studio, lbgdesign, where projects range from architecture and interiors to furniture and custom wallpaper, Girling’s Lulo furniture line nicely reflects her training in architecture, graphic design and painting. Using a combination of lacquered wood, glossy plexiglass and powder coated steel, these locally made pieces stand out for their whimsical flower motif, rendered with meticulously graphic flair in clean, bold colors. “Because everything is designed and made right here in San Diego, I am able to have full control over the quality and design of the pieces.”
