If disposable tableware were this pretty, would you dispose of it as easily? That seems to be the question being asked by students at Switzerland’s Ecole cantonale d’art de Lausanne (ECAL), who’ve designed a range of plastic cutlery pieces that uncannily resemble the vegetables they reference. Graft uses injection-molded plastic to graphically replicate nature in both form, texture, and color, asking if “waking both visual and haptic sensation” will induce the user to think harder before throwing the pieces away. We’re guessing, yes.
