Day of the Dead (or Dia de los Muertos) isn’t for a number of months, but we’ve fallen pretty hard for these adorable Day of the Dead Calavera (skull) planters we spotted on crafty blog Creative Kismet. Definitely bordering on dangerously adorable, we still think these have a neat graphic quality to them, making them cool enough to work in a modern home or in a modern outdoor area.

And we wouldn’t worry if you don’t have a ton of painting skills, Regina of Creative Kismet gives pretty detailed and intricate instructions on how to create your own cute planters. These would be perfect for rehabbing any old or shabby planters you might have  but also could be a great treatment for cheap planters if you don’t have a ton of money to spend. More on Creative Kismet.

Would you make these for your modern home or modern outdoor area? Let us know!
