Part 8: Roping Tests. Looking back at the build process so far, this week has undoubtedly been the most stressful to date. We scheduled a certain amount of time for the roping process without knowing exactly how long it would really take us to rope the entire structure. Based on the physical model, we knew that it would not be simple, but we just didn’t know how far off we were from the time we had allotted for this process. Aside from the time issue, there were many details that we had to resolve as well, in terms of the techniques of wrapping and ending the rope, reconciling intersecting planes of rope, and finalizing the number of ropes per plane.
