This mid century in Austin by Arthur Dallas Stenger was just sent to me by a friend of mine that specializes in mid century and modern architecture real estate in the Austin Texas area. If you need someone check him out Creede Fitch. This 1964 home by Stenger is not your typical mid century home. The obvious, the roofline is fantastic. The roof was said to be inspired by the old Austin airport which was designed by another notable firm Fehr and Granger. The great thing is that this house was taken down to the studs and renovated to todays standards by architects Rick and Cindy Black. The rest of the house has some more standard Stenger details like the stacked stone walls (seen both inside and out) and a dramatic cantilever that doubles as a carport. What I would’t give to have a house that was ready for another 50 years.
