Allyn Morris designed this mid-century modern style home for Max Bubeck, a native Angelino and innovator in early off-road motorcycling. This home feels so authentic, its not uber staged or too perfect. The home looks lived in and loved. I have been following Realtor Michael Locke for some time now and he posts some amazing California homes on his Flickr account. I asked him if I could share these photos. Michael is focused on the Los Feliz and Silver Lake areas. The last picture says it all for me, perfect!

“Bubeck was my first residence… concrete block… wood frame and pink stucco… purple Plexiglas and red carpet… large overhangs alternating with no overhangs in the large intersecting roof planes… it was my interpretation of what Southern California architecture should be… clearstory windows..planters, pool, penetration of indoors and outdoors” –Allyn E. Morris, “A Part of Morris: 1950-1979.”
