After a long tenure with Ikea, Swedish designer Karl Malmvall obviously learned a thing or two about streamlined, portable furniture. He designed Step, his comely, lacquered rubber wood step ladder, to be light and collapsable enough to hang on a wall, out of the way, but not out of sight. Yes, the $265 price tag is a bit, well, steep, but just try to find a ladder with glossier good looks.
