The British industrial tile manufacturer Carter & Co., which was responsible for much of the tile used in London’s Underground subway tunnels during the 1930′s, was also known for having produced a slew of incredibly beautiful geometric tiles. Among the Dorset company’s most striking tiles are those from the 1950′s and 1960′s—designs that reflect the era’s preoccupation with repeat patterns and vibrant hues, and looking impressively modern half a century later.
