Architect W G Clark’s diminutive concrete and glass house in Charlottesville, was recently featured in C’ville Abode. It is quite poetic that the literal placement of the small house – monastic in quality -  at the fringe of a traditional city neighborhood of expansive brick piles alludes to Clark’s own position as a (perhaps the) [...]




 

 

Architect W G Clark’s diminutive concrete and glass house in Charlottesville, was recently featured in C’ville Abode. It is quite poetic that the literal placement of the small house – monastic in quality -  at the fringe of a traditional city neighborhood of expansive brick piles alludes to Clark’s own position as a (perhaps the) leading Modernist in a region full of neo-traditionalist practitioners of nostalgia. Yet, it is this disposition that is so attractive.
