Steam Table Lamp

The Steam Table Lamp designed by award-winning Danish designer Rikke Hagen is so simple and futuristic with no wasted lines controls or decoration to flaw the pureness of its form. Only the single turquoise blue power cord that strangely seems to achieve perfection in this modern table lamp and not detract from it.

She achieved this masterpiece in simplicity in collaboration with Holmegaard Glassworks, maker of fine hand-blown glass for 187 years. The Steam Table Lamp consists of  a perfect, mushroom-shaped glass dome opal white that casts a bright, diffused indirect glow. This perfect dome of light rests on a smoked grey base that gives this simple yet powerful table lamp the look of a fine crystal decanter upturned on its flared opening.

The cool, opalescent white and smoked grey, colors that Holmegaard was famous for, make the Steam Table Lamp perfectly fit into almost any decor from a clean minimalist style to a retro mid-century throwback. Standing just over 11″ tall, this hip and contemporary table lamp look great all alone or paired, such as, on either side of a cool modern bed.

Along with all the fine glassware made by Holmgaard there are other cool glass table and pendant lamps but very few are as cool as the Steam Table Lamp for its pure simplicity and modern style.
