Frequent flying just got a bit more literary. At least, if the flying involves the southern hemisphere. Australian airline Qantas has commissioned creative agencies Droga5 and Paul Belford Ltd to design the covers of a suite of novels to keep their frequent flyers entertained in-flight. The paperbacks are scaled to the duration of Qantas’ popular routes, allowing for good reads lasting a couple of hours to a full 24 hours. And the elegant, black-and-white cover designs, kept consistent with spare, mysterious illustrations reflecting each book’s storyline, have, no doubt, been chosen to boost Quantas’ reputation as a superior, world-renowned airline. We’re just happy with yet another confirmation that, despite digital reading devices, the printed book still carries weight.
