Product designer Fredrik Wærnes, a member of the Norwegian design collective Strek created this smart and quirky side table last year, and it ranks as one of our favorite recent small table designs. The cleanly crafted all-wood Button table was developed with versatility in mind—demonstrated by the removable sleek black table top, which doubles as an equally handsome serving tray. But the table’s most distinctive feature is the cutout in the center of the tray—both a visual feature (which inspired Button’s name) and a practical device for grasping and moving the table easily.
