“The global value of illegal wildlife trade is between $7.8 billion and $10 billion per year. It is a major illicit transnational activity worldwide—along with arms, drugs and human trafficking,” says the World Wildlife Fund. Eschewing gruesome photos of wildlife poaching, they’ve opted instead for a soulful, visually arresting, and highly effective ad campaign aimed at bringing attention to the illegal trade in— and decimation of—endangered species. Of the ads, which were created in-house, Terry Mack of the WWF says, “We look for our advertising and marketing to be inspirational, and we think that is best done when we show the promise of the future and what we aim to protect.”
