DownloadFinnish brand iittala has launched a new version of Lantern, the elegant glass candle holder first introduced in 1999. Designed by Harri Koskinen, Lantern, an exceedingly simple glass monolith with a ‘floating’ candle at its center, is now available in an electric version. “A candle creates a relaxed atmosphere and is associated with a ritual,” says Koskinen. “A few hours after the candle is lit, the flame is put out and darkness returns. Electricity brings more functionality as it is more luminous and has no time limit. He adds, “When it doesn’t need to fulfill its purpose, Lantern is also a good interior design object, thanks to its strong shape.”Download-3
