In a past post I featured some stunning fashion images by Frederico Martins. The composition of these images included two very interesting structures. Right away plastolux readers identified the buildings. After seeing more images of the white minimal house I instantly recognized it. The blue building was one I was not familiar with. The minimal white home is the Leiria House by Aires Mateus. I remember seeing it some time ago and thinking “this is some futuristic jive”. I love everything about. “The functionality of this house is very traditional and is divided into spaces or private rooms and other areas of social or collective spaces. Las zonas privadas se situaron bajo el nivel del suelo, alrededor de un vacío central con habitaciones que tienen patios privados para aumentar la condición de intimidad. The private areas are placed under the ground level around a central empty rooms have private patios to enhance the condition of intimacy.”

The blue building is the Almada Municipal Theatre, Almada, Portugal. Designed by Manuel Graça Dias + Egas José Vieira with Gonçalo Afonso Dias. I Don’t recall seeing to many buildings that are done in such a brightly colored monochromatic treatment. “The design accompanies the natural slope of the land for the layout of the main hall, with the inevitably massive stage box rising up on the lowest part in order to reduce its impact, bringing it closer, simultaneously, to an already existing impasse that would then function as an access for loading and unloading.”
