We were taken with the basic integrity of The Murray Table, brought to our attention by Philadelphia design studio Edgewood. Conceived by Edgewood founders George Dubinsky and David Short, the table’s graceful form reflects the designers’ esthetic philosophy of “direct design,” which dispenses with superfluous details in favor of only essential elements. The base, a module of three linear triangles, is forged in lustrous bronze, and supports a beautifully finished circular table top, constructed from locally sourced American cherry. We like The Murray Table’s modest footprint—and its rosy, burnished beauty has us hoping that Dubinsky and Short have more bronze and cherry in reserve.
