If any of you have been following me on plastolux, twitter or facebook you would know that we are expecting a baby boy in June. This is our third child with a good sized gap in age, consequently we had gotten rid of all of our baby stuff. This left us starting over on a new nursery. Other projects I am working on include: A Lamp made form a gallon glass cut jug, End tables with Eastvold, A freshly pair of powder coated Eames bases and finally putting a nursery together. Read the rest of the post for more details.
With the nursery we are really trying to do things on a budget. The great spring rocker was a trade for some design work. It is currently being reupholstered in some dark gray Knoll fabric found at Modern Fabrics. Thanks for the rocker Amy!
One wall in the nursery will be done with long cut plywood strips that I will stain black.
We picked up a Ikea crib from craigslist that was in perfect condition. It will go against the black wall.
Last week I found this 4′ plywood dinosaur at a thrift store. I will hang that from one corner of the room.
The first piece of artwork for the nursery is this poster from Tomer Hanuka. He is one of my favorite artists, it’s already in a gloss white frame. For now that’s all for the nursery but I will post more as we get closer.
If you missed it, I am doing my second project with Matt from Eastvold Custom. We needed some nightstands and Matt is making my design a reality
Last week, I was able to powder coat a set of Eames bases, so glossy white. These are not going back on chairs, it is for another project. More on these later.
I have also been working a design for some lamps based off of my glass cutting technique. I have it all designed out, except that I need to find some one with a wood lathe to make some simple bases. If any of you out there have this skill please get in contact with me.
Last but not least for the last little while I have been pinning the crap out of Pintrest. I have been categorizing my images so that it will be easier to look through a specific subject.
