How  did we miss this awesome DIY dog decor project when Erin Loechner, of Design for Mankind, posted about this on her column on HGTV.com?! Basically Erin and her husband Ken love their doggies but hate ugly plastic dog crates. (Something many of us can understand). So Ken went to the drawing board when they realized Erin also needed a coffee table for her office. What he came up with is nothing short of brilliant.

This isn’t for those afraid of saws and not a little familiar with woodworking. Erin talks about this great home doggie design in the column, and while they don’t provide exact instructions or patterns, she includes plenty of photos that someone who’s pretty good at building things could probably emulate. And she also shares some advice! Check out DIY Dog: A Modern Pet Crate Coffee Table on HGTV.com for more advice, info and photos! (And if you’re not checking out her column on a regular basis, you totally should be).

Do your doggies use crates? If so what kind of crates are they? Would you ever build them a DIY modern one?! Let us know how you’ve tackled modern doggie decor!
