The name of Bon Appetit’s choice for the best new restaurant in America of 2011, “Husk” caught our attention first. It just sounds like a good restaurant name. Earthy, Southern, hinting at something more — when we read menu descriptions of this restaurant we definitely started wanting to plan a trip to Charleston, North Carolina to try this place out for ourselves. So what does America’s best new restaurant look like?

Well the exterior totally makes us fall in love with it first; it’s got a the facade of old plantation and immediately sets you in the mood for some good Southern food fare. The inside is bright and simple. A mix between modern, contemporary and traditional. Wood tones are honey-colored. Colors come from patterns in curtains and other upholstery.
