You’ll notice we don’t post about a lot of “beachy” stuff. Frankly the look often seems worn out to us — and can slide into cliche, done-that-before territory really easily. But, every now and then a beachy-looking place will come across our radar that perfectly respects the spirit of the look and does so in a surprisingly modern way.

ScavulloDesign’s behind the interior design of the Stinson Beach House, and while a quick glance might leave you with the impression this is a traditional-styled space, look closer. You see that? Modern details! And not modern details shoved in to create an “eclectic” look, but modern details expertly chosen to look perfectly with the more traditional items in the space already. A really fun look, if you ask us. More on ScavulloDesign’s online portfolio.

What do you think about this mix of beachy + modern?
