64927Ikea’s collaboration with Chinese designers and craftsmen has yielded its recent Trendig Collection, a limited edition series of home furnishings which melds Chinese shapes, patterns and colors with the Swedish brand’s traditional offerings of pale woods and clean lines. Comprised of furniture, lighting, and smaller housewares and decorative accessories, the Trendig range includes some products that bear the company’s unmistakable Scandinavian esthetic (the Aalto-influenced occasional table) and others with obvious eastern influences (latticework, bamboo). Not yet available in the U.S., Trendig’s limited run, one hopes, won’t be limited to Europe only.
