Scandia_Senior_front-1Compared to its Scandinavian neighbors, Norway may be a more reticent player on the contemporary design scene, but as Fjordfiesta proves, there’s plenty happening there. Exhibiting at this year’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York, Fjordifesta, a design studio founded in 2001 by Oslo architect Paul Lunder, stays true to its Scandinavian roots with a range of gorgeously crafted vintage and contemporary designs realized in bent wood. Reissued Scandia chairs, sculptural slatted masterworks originally designed by Hans Brattrud in the 1950’s and contemporary forms by Andreas Engesvik and Anderssen & Voll round out a graceful Nordic collection infused with “bold Norwegian flavor.”
