A "Make Work Project" commissioned by Franklin Delano Rosevelt during the throes of the 1930s Depression, it still retains almost all of the original handmade details. There is so much creativity in the woodwork, ironwork and even the curtains, which are made from old workers' uniforms spun into seriously beautiful textiles.
