Dear Friends, I am working with my local arts center / theater - Arts Center of Cannon County (TN) www.artscenterofcc.com and they would like to decrease cooling costs by coating some of the exterior western walls. I have read conflicting stories on heat reflective paints and was hoping you all could provide assistance. ACCC is a steel framed and clad building - currently painted barn red, but the director is fine with painting the western walls a different color / material because those sides are hidden or already cluttered with mechanical equipment. The reduction on winter-heat gain would be minimal because we have mostly overcast days here in TN. ACCC has done much to reduce its environmental footprint (they have a 25 kWh solar installation), and reduction in cooling costs would be great benefit to their operational costs.
