I live two floors over the kitchen of a Brazilian restaurant here in NYC. (For the record, I was a tenant in this building long before the restaurant took a lease in one of the ground floor spaces). When the kitchen staff gets forgetful (or too busy) cooking exhaust from the broiler/grill they use overwhelms the capacity of the hood in their kitchen and seeps up thru their ceiling into my apartment. This is an intermittent, unpredictable problem in that I never know when it will occur. I'd like to purchase an air cleaning device to use as needed, to eliminate the acrid burn-off leeching in to our home. Can you recommend something you think would suffice?
