Are there any truly green modular companies within reasonable distance of Western NC?

We have contacted a couple in the state but are not satisfied that they are knowledgeable about what makes for energy efficiency and healthy built materials. The Pacific Northwest and New England seem to have a number of choices but I haven't seen any on the internet in our locale. How far is too far for transporting a modular house of modest size? (We are not interested in tiny or wee houses - need a bit more than that).
