Our Mission: The G2 Gallery is an award winning nature and wildlife photography gallery that facilitates change by bringing attention to environmental issues through the power of photographic art. G2 shares this passion with both celebrated and emerging environmental photographers, who use the camera as a tool to inspire conservation.
The Gallery: Supporting art and the environment by showcasing the world’s most celebrated nature and wildlife photographers and donating the proceeds to environmental charities.
Since opening our doors in March 2008, the G2 Gallery has been committed to promoting the appreciation and conservation of our natural environment through photography and other art forms. G2 presents an illuminating range of exhibits that showcase nature and wildlife photography by artists who inform, inspire and generate greater awareness of the environmental issues we face.
is pleased to also offer an array of informative lectures, evenings of live music and documentary film screenings. The gallery hosts fundraising events in partnership with local conservation and educational organizations. As an Eco-Conscience Gallery, we believe in products and services that aid the environment and we are proud to donate all art proceeds to a variety of environmental charities.
Dan and Susan Gottlieb’s shared interest in photography and conservation became the catalyst for the founding of The G2 Gallery. Their travels have included many different lands and environments, always with camera in hand.
Born in Chicago, Dan Gottlieb grew up spending hours in the Field Museum of Natural History and the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. He is a 1965 graduate of Boalt Hall Law School and thereafter served for four years as a Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney. In 1976 Dan co-founded a realty corporation that continues to thrive today. In the 1990’s Dan served a 6-year term on the Board of Directors of the U. S. Chamber of Commerce.
When Susan Lenman Gottlieb was born, her family was living in a log cabin built by her Swedish immigrant father in the remote area of Quebec, Canada. After graduating from Mack Training School for Nurses in St. Catherines, Ontario, Susan worked for many years in California as a registered nurse.
Although the Gottliebs have had a lifelong interest in nature and the environment, Susan became actively involved in the 1980’s when she began the restoration of her garden by removing most of the exotic plants and replacing them with California native plants. Susan’s garden is now designated by the National Wildlife Federation as an official Backyard Wildlife Habitat. It is often included as a stop on LA’s prestigious garden tours and offers a wonderful look at many varieties of California natives.
Susan is currently on the Board of Directors of the Friends of Ballona Wetlands and Audubon California, and is a supporter of many environmental organizations including Earth Justice, Conservation International and The Theodore Payne Foundation.
The G2 Gallery is making extreme efforts to become an environmental leader in Los Angeles. We actively develop and implement new procedures to be more efficient and environmentally friendly. We will continue to comply with all environmental regulations and take the proper steps to conserve our natural resources, prevent pollution, and reduce waste. We see the need to lead by example and continue to make changes in our operating practices to demonstrate our environmental responsibility to our community.
Remember our mission is our bottom line. The G2 Gallery believes in the union between environmental causes and the power of photographic art to change the world. We support art and the environment by showcasing the world’s most celebrated nature and wildlife photographers and donating the proceeds to environmental charities.
