I'm coveting this storage basket not only for its cool graphic pattern but because it's made in Brazil by Baniwa indigenous peoples, who have a rich history in basketmaking from arumã plant fibers with distinctive patterns drawn from ancient Baniwa petroglyphs. Currently the production of these baskets is one of the few sources of regular income for the Baniwa.
