We are building a cord-wood house ourselves and have purchased hardwood flooring from a local sawmill for most of the house. I am told that linoleum is not manufactured in the U.S. and therefore one must add the "cost" of transport from overseas to its carbon footprint. Which is REALLY the greener alternative--linoleum or vinyl--for my kitchen and bathroom floors.
