If you think all gardening magazines are staid and traditional, think again. The recently launched Wilder Quarterly is for "contemporary growers"—all those green thumbs, rooftop gardeners, cooks and foodies, seed savers, architects, botanists, horticulturists, innovators, amateurs and experts who are making the most of the non-traditional space they've been given. It was founded by Celestine Maddy, a 33-year-old amateur gardener from Brooklyn, who was frustrated by how advanced and/or boring she found most gardening and horticulture publications.
