NanaWall Systems, maker of beautiful folding door systems, just announced a partnership with Lamboo, maker of laminated bamboo, pursuant to which the companies will offer the first door system in the country with laminated bamboo framing.  The product will help contribute toward LEED certification in a number of areas, according to a press release.

Specifically, the laminated bamboo used in this NanaWall contributes to LEED credits as a rapidly renewable material and low-emitting material.  The product also meets Energy Star requirements.

The Lamboo version is available with NanaWall's WD65 wood-framed system and the WA67 aluminum-clad wood-framed system.  The bamboo is sourced from Central and South America, India, Africa, and China.

This new bamboo folding door was created in response to customer requests.  Ebrahim Nana, president of NanaWall, said, "We already offer FSC wood but Lamboo takes the concept one step further and is recognized as a rapidly renewable resource by the U.S. Green Building Council."
