Join green business leaders and the Green Chamber of Commerce for a special event to launch the new green economy agenda.

Thursday, November 5th: Building an Honest Economy – The Green Chamber’s Annual Celebration

On November 5, 2009 at 5:30pm the Green Chamber of Commerce is celebrating its second year with an event titled “Building an Honest Economy”. The event is hosted by Wendel Rosen Black & Dean, a Green Chamber business member, and features an awards ceremony and speech by Ahmed Rahim, CEO and co-founder of Numi Organic Tea.

Featured sponsors: Wendel, Rosen, Black & Dean, Green Dentistry, Sustainable Industries, and Savoy Events.

Donation sponsors: Amanda’s, Thirsty Bear, OOBA, Frey Vineyards and A Muse Muzick®.

With major businesses such as PG&E and Apple withdrawing from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in opposition to its stance on climate change, more businesses are looking to alternative organizations to represent their values. The Green Chamber of Commerce is offering just that.

In addition to promotional and educational opportunities, the Green Chamber of Commerce offers a strong voice in favor of environmental policies such as AB32, California’s Global Warming Solutions Act, which sets important emissions-reduction goals. The Green Chamber’s membership includes businesses from various industries whose driven and energetic leaders are committed to supporting and doing business with companies and organizations that share their vision of a sustainable and thriving economy.

Olivia Teter, Chief Creative Officer & Co-Founder of Vetrazzo, a Bay Area green manufacturer, has been involved with the Chamber since it was founded in 2007.
“At Vetrazzo, our goal is to demonstrate a better way of doing business, evaluating success based on the triple bottom line: people, planet and profit.  With the Green Chamber of Commerce we are able to work with other businesses to leverage our resources, giving us greater influence and increased effectiveness in our efforts towards sustainability.”

The November 5th event is $20 for Green Chamber member and $30 for non-members. Pre-registraion required.
