These Mother's Day pin wheels and fortune teller paper games are a perfect gift for younger children to craft for mom. Kim Foren of Geranium Lake Flowers shows us how it's done.

In case you missed Kim’s first post on stunning DIY natural easter eggs (we’re still swooning over those sepia floral designs), this tutorial is another simple, totally stylish, treat. We can’t wait to see what the talented Portland-based stylist and florist has in store next!

These Mother’s Day Pin Wheels and Fortune Teller Paper Games are a perfect gift for younger children to craft for mom. We used fun simple recycled scrapbook paper (if you like Amy Butler’s bedding, check out her Lotus collection of recycled scrapbook paper) and then made a simple pinwheel cut-out, pinned it to the wood dowel and then secured it with antique buttons. They look adorable presented in simple old fashioned milk bottles, vintage juice glass or plain old ball jars.

To compliment the the pinwheel gift, simple paper fortune tellers are a great way to tell mom how many ways you love her. Fold the fortune teller the same way you would normally, but then inside, instead of fortunes, list different reasons you love her or things you are thankful for (again, make sure to choose from the gorgeous options of recycled or FSC certified decorative paper!). Try rubber stamping “Happy Mother’s Day” on the outside with a vintage set of alphabet stamp letters with your secret messages inside.
