Congratulations to Tigo Energy on announcing that its PV optimization solutions for the solar industry reached another milestone. The company reports that its solutions are now operating with over two thousand (2000) different types of inverters from over eighty (80) different suppliers. 

For anybody on the green building and consulting end of the renewable energy spectrum, this is useful information to have in the archive. There is certainly no ‘one-size-fits-all’ in the way of inverter solutions.

2000 Inverter Models from Over 80 Inverter Companies Work With Tigo’s Smart PV Technology

Tigo Energy, the smart module market leader, today announced that its PV optimization solutions for the solar industry reached another milestone. Tigo Energy solutions are now successfully operating with over two thousand (2000) different types of inverters from over eighty (80) different suppliers. These inverters range from small residential to large utility, covering a widespread geography including: Antarctica, Australia, Japan, China, South America, North America, Europe, Middle East and more. This milestone provides further validation that Tigo Energy is the clear leader in the smart module space, with the only solution that enables module manufacturers the flexibility to handle any number of different inverter architectures.

“Fundamentally we believe that our smart module technology needs to work within the strong ecosystem the solar industry has generated over the past decade,” said Ben Hill GM of Trina Europe. “Trinasmart optimized by Tigo Energy gives us the flexibility to deploy the solution to any geography and gives our customers the most choice possible for their balance of systems decisions. Tigo Energy’s technology is the only available solution that has received written notification of compliance with all of the major inverter manufacturers. These declarations of compliance highlight the compatibility of Tigo Energy’s technology with their inverter topologies and that their standard warranties are valid when used with Tigo’s smart module or optimizer solutions.

“Tigo set out to build a company that would provide the most reliable, best featured, and cost effective optimization solution complementing any inverter and or solar PV module,” said Zvi Alon CEO of Tigo Energy. “The recent milestone results from working collaboratively with inverter manufacturers and PV module suppliers while proving scalability and bankability in multiple vertical solutions. Inverter manufacturers have also worked with Tigo Energy to promote and enable easier adoption of this architecture. Earlier this year Tigo Energy and KACO new energy announced the introduction of the KACO blueplanet M-series. The new line of inverters integrates Tigo Energy’s Management Unit and communications infrastructure directly inside the KACO inverter. This collaboration reduces the number of components a system installer needs to manage, making it easier and faster to install smart modules optimized by Tigo Energy.
